Emotional Intelligence and Why You Need it for Success as a Project Manager?

About the event

Many people think that a project manager should be competent in planning and organising and have other hard skills to be successful. However, project managers need more than that, they need to have Emotional Intelligence (EI) to be good project leaders. Emotional Intelligence is defined as “the ability to monitor one’s own and other’s feelings and emotions, to discriminate among them, and use this information to guide one’s thinking and action.” Daniel Goleman expanded this concept with an emotional intelligence competency model for better leadership performance. By knowing your own and other’s emotions you will be able to deliver a better performance as a project manager.

This seminar will focus on providing you with an understanding of Goleman’s emotional competency framework and also identify what leadership styles are most appropriate in different situations that you will face as a project manager. Join us and be a part of the discussion on “Emotional Intelligence – Why You Need it for Success as a Project Manager?” to understand all facets of EI and how emotions can be leveraged to meet project goals.

TRG Talk Project Management

Project projects everywhere and  not a competent Project Manager in sight! The idea for TRG Talk: Project Management arose from an obvious growing need for real Project Managers. In Vietnam there is no Vietnamese Project Management qualification or Association. Many of us who practice project management in our businesses across a multitude of industries had continually complained about the lack of good project management and thus a group of us decided to do something about it.
