AmCham ICT Committee December Meeting

Committee Purpose

1. Provide opportunities for networking and internal information activities for members and staff in the IT industry sector IT professional area.
2. Reach out to IT organizations in Vietnam (e.g. QTSC) and Committees in AmChams, esp. Japan, Singapore, Thailand, India to promote networking, information-sharing, and business development
3. Identify key issues for change to promote trade and investment between Vietnam and the U.S.
4. Share information about regulatory environment and proposed changes that would affect their business, e.eg. Decree 72 and the subsequent implementation circulars.

Specific Committee Objectives

1. Organize two or three events/activities per year for the benefit of the general membership.
2. Create a committee of 5-10 active members that participate regularly (monthly) in committee meeting and additional (“passive”) members that may participate several times a year.
3. Identify top three issues in the committee’s area of responsibility, field of interest
4. Prepare issues paper/informational briefing paper/Position paper on the top three key issues. Convert issues paper/briefing paper to article for AmCham Web Site. Make recommendations to the local and national authorities to achieve objectives 3.
5. Identify and help recruit new members for AmCham
6. Establish relationships with other AmCham IT Committees in the region e.g. Singapore, Thailand, Japan
7. Establish relationships with other IT organisations in Vietnam e.g. Vinasa, QTSC
