Introduction to Coffee

The Saigon Coffee Academy is a professional skills training academy that provides coffee training to individuals that wish to acquire strong foundational skills in becoming a professional barista.

We provide professional level training using the latest equipment and techniques. Each training session lasts for 3 hours in one of our training rooms or in the Saigon Coffee Academy lab.

We promise to provide:

  • Professional level certified training
  • Over 75% of training time will be hands-on skills development with a training professional
  • Maximum of 6 students per trainer in a class

Introduction to Coffee:

This program is a experiential and sensory knowledge development course that also provides the foundation skills for making good quality coffee drinks.

This course provides sensory skills development through sights, smell, taste, and touch to grade and categorize coffee and adjust skills to produce an enjoyable cup of coffee.

This course also provides focused and guided foundational training on how to brew coffee at an artisanal level and create a professional level espresso coffee drink.

This specialized intensive course combines our Introduction to Coffee and ProBarista programs with the development of guest service skills so that as they work overseas they have the competence of barista and service skills for their tasks at hand, the confidence of knowledge to provide elevated service and quickly resolve issues and unique requests, and capable of performing tasks of creating good coffee on various types of coffee equipment.

Pro Barista

The Saigon Coffee Academy is a professional skills training academy that provides coffee training to individuals that wish to acquire strong foundational skills in becoming a professional barista. We provide professional level training using the latest equipment and techniques. Each training session lasts for 3 hours in one of our training rooms or in the Saigon Coffee Academy lab.

Professional Barista Skills:

This program is composed of two separate pathways that can be taken individually or as an entire comprehensive program. These two pathways are brewing coffee at a professional level and espresso coffee at a professional level. Professional coffee brewing is an intensive, guided, professional level training program that focuses on providing the necessary skills and techniques to brew coffee using common and uncommon coffee brewing equipment and brewing techniques.

This program involves the focused skills not only on various methods on how to brew coffee, but how to adjust methods and techniques to adjust to create a great cup of coffee for professional service. Professional espresso coffee is an intensive, guided, professional level training program that focuses on providing the necessary skills and techniques to create espresso based coffee drinks while competently operating various types of espresso coffee machines.

This program involves developing skills in making drinks, troubleshooting problems that can occur, along with skills in maintenance of professional quality espresso coffee machines. The combination of these skills and knowledge sets creates a professional that can operate and adjust to ensure that a great cup of Italian style coffee is consistently served to a professional standard.

Professional Barista: Espresso Coffee Drinks*

Learn the professional techniques of making espresso coffee drinks in a professional setting by learning how to:
  • Pull an espresso shot
  • Make the many different espresso based coffee drinks

6 sessions / 4.75  million VND

Professional Barista: Artisan Brewing Techniques*

Learn the professional techniques of making brewed coffee with artisanal techniques in a professional setting by learning how to:
  • Brew high quality coffee using professional brewing equipment
  • Create hot, iced, and cold drinks using various methods

4 sessions / 3.25 million VND

Professional Barista: Full Course*

A combination of both professional barista classes in one class. Learn how to be a top level barista in a professional setting learning how to:
  • Create various drinks using an espresso machine
  • Create artisanal brewed coffee

10 sessions / 6.25  million VND
