# Making the most of World Blood Donor Day with TRG International

On July 13, 2018, TRG International cooperated with AmCham and the [British Chamber of Commerce Vietnam](https://britchamvn.com/) (BritCham, previously BBGV) to organise [the annual **Blood Donor Day**](https://trginternational.com/about-us/csr/), this year the event took place at [PJ’s Coffee Sala](http://pjscoffeevietnam.com/). We want to bring the Blood Donor Day closer to TRG-ers and other donors who are currently living and working in District 2, as well as to raise awareness on the importance of supplying enough blood in case of emergencies.

The event started at 7:30 AM, and already many donors were waiting in line to give blood. [Mr. Rick Yvanovich](https://trginternational.com/about-us/individual-profiles/?page=1), CEO and Founder of TRG International, was one of the first donors of the event.

Mr. Pham Hong Thai, Deputy General Director of TRG International, shared with us: “Blood donation proves that you don’t have to be a doctor to save lives. Just open your heart, free up an hour or so of your time and a pint of blood to help those in need!”

In fact, donating blood brings lots of health benefits, including a better overall health and a reduced [risk of cancer](https://www.hjhospitals.org/en/blog/7-Surprising-Benefits-of-Blood-Donation-You-May-Not-Know-About) and hemochromatosis. It also helps reduce the risk of liver and pancreatic damage, improve cardiovascular health, and reduce obesity.

With the theme “Blood Donation is an act of solidarity“ and slogan “BE THERE FOR SOMEONE ELSE. GIVE BLOOD. SHARE LIFE”, TRG International hopes to encourage everybody to donate blood regularly in order to ensure the sufficiency of bloodstock.
